Connect your own website domain

Use your business domain for a website built in WedStudio, with guided Cloudflare setup and secure HTTPS.

Where to startWedNav → Website & galleries → Change setup

Before you start

  • Custom-domain setup must be available in your workspace. If it is unavailable, contact support; you can still use your provided WedPlanned address.
  • Sign in as the owner or an administrator of the correct business workspace. Each professional connects their own Cloudflare account.
  • Have a plan that includes Studio publishing. You can design and privately preview during a trial.
  • Own the domain and have access to the Cloudflare account managing its DNS. Keep renewing the domain with your domain registrar.
  • Prepare your website in WedStudio. Connecting a domain does not copy an existing website or publish your saved draft.

Step by step

  1. Prepare your domain

The guided connection needs a domain marked Active in your Cloudflare account. If your DNS is managed elsewhere, contact support to review the route before moving it. Changing nameservers affects the whole domain, including your existing website and email. A normal link to your WedStudio portfolio needs no DNS changes.

  2. Open Custom domain settings

Open WedNav → Website & galleries and review the saved setup. Choose Change setup, select the custom-domain website route and choose Save setup. Follow the Cloudflare wizard shown below when available. You can also manage an existing connection in Settings → Connections → Website & domain → Custom domain settings. Your provided WedPlanned address is available while preparing a custom address.

  3. Connect Cloudflare

Choose Connect Cloudflare, sign in to your own Cloudflare account, and review the WedPlanned permission screen. DNS Write allows website records to be configured; Zone Read allows your domains to be listed. Authorize the account you intend to connect. You do not need to create or share an API key.

  4. Choose your website address

Back in WedPlanned, choose Load my domains and select your domain. Enter an unused subdomain such as portfolio.yourbusiness.com. You can use www.yourbusiness.com when it is unused. The automatic flow does not connect the bare domain, such as yourbusiness.com, or configure forwarding from it.

  5. Review before connecting

Choose Review connection and check the complete website address. If records already exist, stop and use an unused address or ask support to arrange a reviewed switch. The wizard does not overwrite an existing website, email record or conflicting domain setup.

  6. Confirm and check HTTPS

Choose Confirm and connect. WedPlanned creates the reviewed website record and requests a secure certificate. Choose Check connection until the address and certificate are ready. DNS and certificate changes may take time; a connected Cloudflare account alone does not mean the website address is live.

  7. Publish and check your website

Publish any connected gallery in WedStudio → Galleries first, then preview and publish the website. Return to the connection screen and choose View website once the domain is connected. Check the home page, portfolio, stories and contact form on a phone and computer. Keep your existing main website in place when using a separate subdomain.

What happens next

Your selected custom address serves the published WedStudio website for your business. You maintain its content and branding in WedStudio; domain ownership and renewal remain with your registrar.

Helpful tips

  • This connection is for the pro’s public WedStudio website. It does not change the WedPlanned sign-in address, private client-gallery links or couple portals.
  • Each business workspace has its own connection and website mapping. Connecting your account does not move other professionals’ websites.
  • You can keep an existing website and use an unused subdomain for WedStudio. Saving a connection does not import that existing website.
  • The custom address serves the full published WedStudio website, not an embedded gallery or a page inside another website. The automatic flow supports one custom website address per workspace.
  • If you keep your website on another platform, follow the existing-website instructions in Website & galleries and leave its domain connection in place.
  • Under Manage Cloudflare access you can disconnect WedPlanned’s account access. This does not remove the domain’s DNS record or move the website back. Arrange a website switch separately.

Troubleshooting

The guided connection is unavailable

Contact support to check availability for your workspace. Continue using your supplied WedPlanned address or a normal portfolio link while the custom-domain route is reviewed.

My domain is not listed

Check that you connected the Cloudflare account which manages it. Use Manage Cloudflare access to disconnect and reconnect to the correct account if necessary.

Cloudflare shows the domain as pending

Complete its nameserver setup with your registrar and wait for Cloudflare to mark it Active.

This address already has records

Your existing setup has been protected. Choose an unused subdomain or contact support for a reviewed switch. Do not delete live website or email records just to pass the check.

Connection expired or access unavailable

Reconnect Cloudflare from the same business workspace, then load your domains again.

HTTPS is not ready

Wait for DNS and certificate validation, then choose Check connection again. If it stays pending, contact support with the hostname and displayed message.

The address is connected but no website appears

Check that your Studio plan permits publishing and that you have published the website, rather than only saving a draft.

I want to change an already connected address

Contact support to arrange the change; the automatic flow currently supports one custom website address per workspace.
