Use WedPlanned galleries with your existing website
Display an existing public WedStudio gallery inside Squarespace, WordPress, Wix or another website. Manage the photos once in Galleries and reuse the same selection.
Before you start
- Choose content you have permission to show publicly. This feature is for public galleries; private client galleries stay in WedStore.
- Your WedPlanned plan must include Studio publishing. You do not need to publish a full WedStudio website for a gallery embed.
- Check that your website plan and editing permissions allow iframe or custom HTML code. Keep your existing website and domain connection in place.
Step by step
Review your setup and gallery
Open WedNav → Website & galleries and check the saved summary. To change your main website or gallery source, choose Change setup, complete the form and choose Save setup. Then choose the gallery you want to share. To edit it, open WedStudio → Galleries and choose Locations & venues, Moments or Custom galleries. Review its photos, title and layout in that existing gallery.
Make the gallery available
Publish a venue gallery. Moments and themed custom collections must be Active; saved changes to them are live. Existing photo and video selections use Publish gallery after Save draft. Return to Website & galleries and open the available gallery’s link to check it as a visitor.
Copy the embed code
For a saved existing-website setup, open Galleries: display inside your page. For a WedPlanned-hosted setup, open Also use this gallery on another website. Select your available gallery. Choose Basic embed, set a suitable height and select Copy embed code. The basic version uses a fixed-height iframe with scrolling and needs no extra script.
Add it to your website
Paste the generated code into your website’s HTML embed block. Follow the platform instructions below. Use the code from the gallery, not an admin URL, a private client-gallery URL or a full WedStudio website URL.
Publish and check the page
Publish the page on your existing website. Check it while signed out on a phone and computer. Adjust the embed height or the website builder’s outer container if photographs are cropped or leave too much space.
Keep the same placement
Edit the existing gallery in Studio. Publish venue changes and existing photo/video selections when ready; active moments and themed custom collections update when saved. Placements reuse that gallery, so you do not need to replace the embed code after content changes. Use its archive, draft or offline control to stop public access.
What happens next
Your public gallery appears inside your existing website, while its content is managed and hosted by WedPlanned.
Squarespace: Add a Code block, open its editor, choose HTML and paste the generated code. Leave Display Source off. Squarespace requires Core, Plus, Advanced, or a legacy Business or Commerce plan for iframes and JavaScript. Custom embeds can be hidden in the editor, so check the published page while signed out.
WordPress.com: Add a Custom HTML block, paste the generated code and update the page. Iframes and scripts require a paid WordPress.com plan with hosting features activated. If the code disappears when saved, check the plan and activation before pasting it again.
Self-hosted WordPress: Add a Custom HTML block and paste the generated code. Your account must be allowed to save iframe HTML. If WordPress removes it, ask your site administrator or host to check your permissions and security settings.
Wix: In Wix Editor, choose Add Elements → Embed Code → Embed HTML, then Enter Code and Apply. In Wix Studio, choose Add Elements → Embed & Social → Embed Code. Use Basic embed and size Wix’s outer element for desktop and mobile; the optional height script cannot resize that outer Wix element for you.
Optional automatic height: Where your website allows custom scripts, choose Auto height and copy the complete generated code. It adjusts the gallery frame to its content. If the platform strips scripts or it does not fit correctly, use Basic embed and set its height manually.
Prefer a link or a full website?: Copy the selected gallery’s link from Website & galleries to share it on its own; a full website is not required. For a complete website, create and publish your pages in Studio, then use the included address or set up your own domain in Website & galleries. You can use a gallery link, website and embeds together.
Add stories to your existing website: Publish the story in WedStudio, select it in Website → Content → Stories and publish that website. In Website & galleries, follow Blogs & stories under your saved setup. Select the published story and copy its link, or open Get a story link as HTML and choose Copy story link code. Paste the link into your existing website’s button, menu or post. This opens the hosted story; it is not a story embed or a blog synchronisation.
Helpful tips
- Venues and existing photo/video selections publish a reviewed version. Active moments and themed custom collections are different: saving edits updates their public gallery and placements immediately.
- Hiding a gallery’s overview card does not stop direct links or embeds. Archive a moment, make a custom collection Draft or Archived, or use the relevant unpublish control to stop public access.
- Embedding on another website is also available alongside a WedPlanned-hosted website. Use Also use this gallery on another website; you do not need to replace your saved main website route.
- Use the generated HTTPS embed address. Full WedStudio websites and private WedStore galleries are separate destinations and cannot be substituted in the embed code.
- A gallery embed does not require DNS changes or a domain move. An optional custom subdomain serves a full WedStudio website, not the page on your existing site.
- To publish an article directly in your existing blog, create it in that platform and manually add your reviewed text and photographs. Add a gallery embed if useful, then publish the post there. Changes to manually copied text are managed separately.
- To use a custom address, follow the Custom domain guide when the wizard is available. It requires an Active Cloudflare domain, verification and ready HTTPS, and currently supports one custom website address per workspace.
Troubleshooting
The gallery is unavailable
Check the gallery has public photos, is available and your plan includes Studio publishing. Publish venues and existing photo/video selections; set moments or themed custom collections to Active. In Website & galleries, open the gallery embed instructions for your saved setup, select the gallery and copy fresh code to rule out an incorrect address.
The HTML block is blank or removes the code
Check the platform-specific plan and permissions above. Some editors suppress embedded content while editing. Save and publish, then test the actual page while signed out.
The gallery is clipped or has a large gap
Adjust the Basic embed height and the website builder’s outer container on both desktop and mobile. Use Auto height only where scripts are supported; Wix still needs its outer element sized manually.
My latest changes are missing
Save the gallery, and publish again if its editor has a Publish control. Reload the website page. Active moments and themed custom collections use the saved public selection; venue and existing photo/video drafts need publishing.
My full portfolio still links to another provider
For an existing WedStudio website draft, open Website → Content → Galleries and use Apply WedNav gallery choice when offered. Choose the available WedStudio gallery and republish the website. This step is not needed for an individual gallery embed.
I only need a gallery link
Choose the available gallery in Website & galleries and copy its standalone link. You only need to publish a full Studio website if you want its website pages and Portfolio address.
